Trainee preparing dinner service

The Strawberry Field Café will be a comfortable space where people from the local community, and visitors from near and far, can relax and recharge. The café will provide a range of refreshments from teas and coffee, sandwiches, cakes through to lunch and early dinner all made freshly on-site.

When you visit the café you will be served by some of our Steps to Work programme trainees who will be assisting in the café to develop their practical experience in catering, hospitality and customer service. As a result it will help prepare trainees for meaningful future employment, equipping them with skills, knowledge and qualifications for success. The refreshments bought in the café will help continue to nurture youngsters with learning disabilities and keep Strawberry Field’s red gates open.

“The plan to open Strawberry Field to the public for the first time - so people can see a unique exhibition about the home, how and why the song was written by John, and allow visitors to explore the grounds as John did as a child - is very exciting.”
