Strawberry Field wins at Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards

1st March, 2024

Strawberry Field was delighted to collect two awards at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2023.

Held in the spectacular setting of Liverpool Cathedral, the awards recognise the very best in tourism from across the Liverpool city region in 2023, a year when Liverpool pulled out all the stops as it hosted Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine.

We are incredibly proud to have been named the region's Small Visitor Attraction of the Year! Judges said of Strawberry Field, “This attraction was a rare find, a destination that houses not just a great tourist attraction but also engages their community and offers a place of sanctuary in its indoor and outdoor spaces. A special place and a truly deserving winner”.

We are also delighted that Amber Kinrade, a graduate from our Steps to Work programme who is now part of the team in our Imagine More Café was Highly Commended in the Tourism Young Person of the Year category. The judges remarked that she had ‘a smile that could light up the room!’

Thank you so much to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen and to our many lovely visitors. Congratulations to all the amazing tourism organisations that make the Liverpool region such a brilliant place to live and visit!

“The plan to open Strawberry Field to the public for the first time - so people can see a unique exhibition about the home, how and why the song was written by John, and allow visitors to explore the grounds as John did as a child - is very exciting.”
