Woolton Walking Tour
Follow John Lennon's footsteps to explore places from his childhood.
Strawberry Field has launched a new Woolton Walking Tour to encourage visitors to explore the village where John Lennon grew up on foot.
This new tour starts at Strawberry Field, where visitors can learn the history of the site and its connection to John Lennon, before embarking on a 5k walk to his childhood places.
The tour stops at key sites such as St. Peter's Church and Church Hall (where John and Paul met for the first time), Dairy Cottage and Mendips (houses that John lived in throughout his childhood). The new walking tour allows tourists to follow in John's footsteps and take the time to explore the places he spent his youth.
The Woolton Walking Tour is yet another unique offering to Strawberry Field's visitors. Walking tourists can explore inside many of the places listed on the map and spend more time in the places John frequented when he was young. Our walking tour encourages visitors to get active by venturing out to explore Woolton more sustainably.
The Woolton Walking Tour is available for free from the Strawberry Field gift shop, but donations are gratefully received.
If you want to learn more about John Lennon's childhood, book tickets to our visitor exhibition.
