Recycles Merseyside has been providing cycle maintenance and volunteering opportunities to young people with learning disabilities since May 2016. Based in the spacious surroundings of Bulky Bob’s social enterprise and charity at 129 –139 London Road, Liverpool L3 8JA, the scheme gives its young participants on-the-job training by refurbishing the old bicycles which are donated by the public.

The rebuilt bikes are then sold back to the community, good as new, for a fraction of the normal price of a quality, re-conditioned bike; allowing the trainee bike builders to learn vital customer service and retail skills too.

This is a unique partnership that enables both organisations to expand the opportunities they provide to the most vulnerable people living in the area.

We can help you:

  • To improve your bike maintenance skills
  • Gain a qualification
  • Renovate bikes for people to buy

Recycles is open to all ages

If you'd like to join us at Strawberry Field and realise your goals, why not explore the other programmes available through Steps at Strawberry Field

“The plan to open Strawberry Field to the public for the first time - so people can see a unique exhibition about the home, how and why the song was written by John, and allow visitors to explore the grounds as John did as a child - is very exciting.”
