As the city prepares to mark what would have been the 80th birthday of John Lennon in October, the team at Strawberry Field are launching a local search for Liverpool’s most inspirational ‘People of Peace’.

Lauren, 19, is taking on the 2.6 challenge by learning to ride her bike, so that she can complete 2.6 miles in aid of the Strawberry Field Steps to Work programme, run by The Salvation Army in Liverpool.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us all to change the way we work and be more creative with our resources. The Strawberry Field Steps to Work programme have responded to this challenge by creating ‘Steps from Home’.
“The plan to open Strawberry Field to the public for the first time - so people can see a unique exhibition about the home, how and why the song was written by John, and allow visitors to explore the grounds as John did as a child - is very exciting.”
